Things to note for lesson on 8th April 2009

1. Bring your sketchbooks to class. Ensure that you have started working on the individual portion of your assignment. I will be checking. Also, make sure that you staple the consent forms as well as the worksheet (the one which you all completed in class during the last lesson) to the sketchbook. Your consent forms should be signed by your parents before you staple it to your sketchbook.

2. Bring your completed 3-D setting to class. The background scenery and puppets must be fully completed.

3. You must already have uploaded your YouTube video before you come to class. You have to bring the script (typed out) and the url link (either printed out on paper or saved on Microsoft word on your thumb drive)

• Your video must be 1-3 minutes in length.
• Make your script short and simple.
• For an example take a look at Ms. Jumiah's video on You Tube about Ms
Trunchbull on a Safari at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zp3PYUA-_ZA

4. When you type out your script, it should look something like this:

Matilda: It is so lovely to be on this beach at Nusa Dua, Bali. It is a nice spot to read.

Matilda sat down on the sand and started reading her book, Great Expectations.

5. Bring whatever materials necessary to work on your character suitcase such as construction paper, scissors, glue, scotch tape, clip art, travel brochure, drawing block, coloured markers, coloured pencils, research on your travel destination and whatever other items you require to do your suitcase.

Literature Concepts that we have learnt in class

TERM 2
The CHARACTER suitcase: GROUP

This project helps you to see that everyone will act according to character and make choices according to their character too.

When you choose a holiday destination or activities/
clothes/shoes/etc for your character, I would be able to see if you know the concept of character very well from the things that you choose for him/her. I would also be able to gauge your feelings about them.

The Character suitase/SketchBook Project: Individual

You will have to work with ONE member of your family and send him/her on an imagined holiday. Whatever you do for your group, you might want to consider for your family member. Make sure that you write down your discussions with your chosen family member in your sketchbooks so you can do your best for him/her. You should encourage your family member to write down his/her thoughts too. You should be able to draw/sketch the activities or even have clipart /paste pictures (if you are not a good artist)
